You may need to get the approval of both the Attorney General and a court in order to refinance your mortgage. Certain religious corporations are exempt from needing the Attorney General's approval. Certain religious corporations need approval from the governing church prior to obtaining a mortgage. You may also need approval from New York's Supreme Court prior to obtaining or refinancing your mortgage.
